All media in Nazi Germany—literature, music, newspapers, and public events—were strictly censored. Censorship under the Third Reich was implemented by Minister of Propaganda Joseph Goebbels and enforced by the governing Nazi Party. The goal of this was to empower nazi ideals while suppressing opposing viewpoints. The most infamous acts of censorship by the Nazis were massive bonfires in which they burned books by the dozens.
Norsefire operates similarly. In both the comic series and film adaptation of V for Vendetta the party dictates what the people are exposed to and how. Often they put a spin on recent news to scare the public into submission and compliance. The Norsefire Party is also mentioned to have banned several items including the Quran and other religious paraphernalia. |
